KontrolFreek FPS Freek Galaxy Thumbsticks for PS5 and PS4

Why Stock Thumbsticks Hold You Back

If your aim drifts or your thumbs slide during a tight firefight, the controller itself may be the weak link. Stock PlayStation thumbsticks are short, smooth, and prone to wearing down over time, which makes fine aiming harder the longer you play. The KontrolFreek FPS Freek Galaxy Black set is a simple add-on that addresses that problem directly, and it works with both PS4 and PS5 controllers.

What the Mixed-Height Combo Does

The set includes two different thumbsticks, each aimed at a specific job. The high-rise concave stick goes on the right analog and adds 10.0 mm of height, which the listing describes as increased accuracy and faster target acquisition. The mid-rise concave stick goes on the left analog and adds a nominal 6.5 mm, giving you enhanced control with in-game movement. Together they create a mixed-height setup that separates aiming precision from movement control.

Comfort and Grip That Last Through Long Sessions

Grip matters as much as height. The proprietary non-slip rubber compound offers exceptional grip and requires less force to hold, which helps reduce wrist, hand, and thumb fatigue. That is the difference between a short session and a long one where your hands stay steady. The added comfort and grip work well across your entire library of games, not just shooters, and the caps also protect the stock thumbsticks from wear and tear.

What Buyers Report

The listing carries a 4.6 out of 5 rating from 6,371 reviews, which is a solid signal for a small accessory like this. That volume of feedback suggests a lot of players have tried the Galaxy Black set on their own controllers. As always, individual results vary, but the aggregate rating is a useful starting point when you are comparing thumbstick options.

Who This Is For

This set suits players who want more precise aiming without buying a new controller, and anyone whose stock sticks have started to feel slick or worn. Because it fits both PS4 and PS5, it carries over if you upgrade consoles. Note that packaging may not reflect updated compatibility, so confirm the fit for your controller model.

Value and Where to Buy

Performance thumbsticks are one of the more affordable controller upgrades you can make, and this limited-edition black set sits in the budget-friendly range for gaming accessories. You can check the current price on Amazon to see where it lands today. If grip, accuracy, and comfort are your priorities, it is a low-risk way to test a taller stick setup.

Final Take

The KontrolFreek FPS Freek Galaxy Black set pairs a high-rise right stick with a mid-rise left stick, adds a non-slip rubber compound for less fatigue, and backs it with a strong review record. For PS4 and PS5 players chasing steadier aim, it is worth a look. See the KontrolFreek FPS Freek Galaxy Black thumbsticks on Amazon and compare it to your current setup.
